The diagnosis of primary aldosteronism requires a confirmatory test, such as an intravenous saline suppression test or oral salt-loading test, and treatment may involve mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists like spironolactone or eplerenone, or surgical removal of adrenal adenomas.
