From the Research
The most effective topical treatment for neck skin laxity is a cream containing retinol, tripeptide, and glaucine, as it has been shown to improve signs of aging and provide both clinical and histologic improvement of phototoaging, as demonstrated in a recent study published in 2023 1. To use, apply a small amount to clean, dry skin on the neck and décolletage area once or twice daily. Gently massage in upward motions until absorbed. For best results, use consistently for at least 8-12 weeks. This cream works by:
- Retinol stimulating collagen production and cell turnover
- Tripeptide supporting skin structure and elasticity
- Glaucine complex helping to improve signs of aging While creams can improve skin appearance, they won't produce dramatic results like surgery. Combine with a healthy lifestyle, sun protection, and proper skincare routine for optimal neck skin health. If you have sensitive skin, start with less frequent application and gradually increase as tolerated. Some studies have also shown that botulinum toxin injection combined with non-cross-linked high molecular weight and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid gel can be an effective treatment for neck rejuvenation, as it can improve hydration and thickness of the skin, as well as provide a more youthful appearance 2. However, this treatment may not be suitable for all patients, and a thorough consultation with a dermatologist is necessary to determine the best course of treatment. Other studies have investigated the use of different topical creams, such as those containing N-Acetyl Glucosamine, retinol, niacinamide, hexylresorcinol, and resveratrol, which have also shown promising results in improving signs of aging on the neck and décolletage 3, 4, 5. However, the most recent and highest quality study suggests that a cream containing retinol, tripeptide, and glaucine is the most effective topical treatment for neck skin laxity.
