Peroneal Tendonitis: This condition is characterized by inflammation of the peroneal tendons, which run along the outside of the ankle and foot. The pain is typically located on the top of the foot at the small toe side and can worsen with activities that involve pulling the foot up, such as dorsiflexion.

Extensor Tendonitis: Inflammation of the extensor tendons, which are responsible for toe extension and foot dorsiflexion, can cause pain on the top of the foot. Increased pain with foot dorsiflexion is a common symptom.
Cuboid Syndrome: This condition involves the cuboid bone in the midfoot and can cause pain on the top of the foot near the small toe side. It often occurs after an injury or repetitive strain.

Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): Although less common, DVT can cause pain in the foot and leg, especially if the clot is located in the deep veins of the lower extremity. It's crucial to consider DVT due to its potential for severe complications, such as pulmonary embolism.
Compartment Syndrome: This is a serious condition that occurs when pressure within the muscle compartments increases, leading to inadequate blood supply. It can cause severe pain, especially with movement, and requires immediate medical attention.

Erythromelalgia: A rare disorder characterized by burning pain, heat, and redness in the hands and feet. It can cause pain in the feet, including the top of the foot near the small toe side.
Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome: Similar to carpal tunnel syndrome but affecting the tarsal tunnel on the inside of the ankle, this condition can cause pain, numbness, and tingling in the foot, including the area near the small toe.
