From the Guidelines
Tadalafil is associated with common side effects including headache, flushing, rhinitis, and dyspepsia, as well as less common adverse effects such as visual disturbances, myalgia, and nausea, as reported in high-quality evidence 1. The most common adverse effects of Tadalafil are:
- Headache
- Flushing
- Rhinitis
- Dyspepsia Less common adverse effects include:
- Visual disturbances
- Myalgia
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Chest pain It is essential to note that the incidence of more serious adverse events is less than 2%, with no difference between PDE-5 inhibitors and placebo, according to high-quality evidence 1. Additionally, Tadalafil may be associated with an increased risk for possible nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), although the absolute risk is relatively low, with an absolute risk of 2.4 cases per 10 000 men per year, as reported in very-low-quality evidence evaluating the association of NAION with the use of PDE-5 inhibitors 1. It is crucial to be aware of the potential interactions between Tadalafil and other medications, such as nitrates, alpha-blockers, antifungals, and certain antibiotics, which may increase the risk of adverse effects. If you experience severe or persistent side effects, especially chest pain, vision/hearing changes, or erections lasting over 4 hours, seek immediate medical attention.

What Are The Possible Side Effects Of Tadalafil Tablets? The most common side effects with tadalafil tablets are: headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. Uncommon side effects include: An erection that won’t go away (priapism). Color vision changes, such as seeing a blue tinge (shade) to objects or having difficulty telling the difference between the colors blue and green. In rare instances, men taking PDE5 inhibitors (oral erectile dysfunction medicines, including tadalafil tablets) reported a sudden decrease or loss of vision in one or both eyes. Sudden loss or decrease in hearing, sometimes with ringing in the ears and dizziness, has been rarely reported in people taking PDE5 inhibitors, including tadalafil tablets

From the Research
Tadalafil Side Effects
The side effects of Tadalafil (Cialis) have been studied in several clinical trials. Some of the common side effects reported in these studies include:
- Dyspepsia (11.8%) 3
- Headache (15.8%) 3
- Back pain (8.2%) 3
- Upper abdominal pain 4
- Myalgia 4
- Nasopharyngitis (11.4%) 3
- Erectile dysfunction (in some cases, an increase in erections) 5
Less Common Side Effects
Less common side effects of Tadalafil include:
- Orthostatic vital signs changes (no clinically adverse changes reported) 6
- Uroflowmetry parameters changes (similar to placebo) 6, 5
- Post-void residual volume changes (no change reported) 5
- Serious adverse events (8.6% of patients) 3
- Discontinuations due to adverse events (6.3%) 3
Long-Term Safety and Tolerability
Long-term studies have shown that Tadalafil is safe and well tolerated for up to 24 months of treatment 3. The most common treatment-emergent adverse events reported in these studies were headache, dyspepsia, nasopharyngitis, and back pain. There were no consistent patterns of serious adverse events or clinically significant laboratory or electrocardiographic findings attributable to Tadalafil administration.
