From the Research

Medication Interactions

  • The combination of Zofran (ondansetron) and Ativan (lorazepam) has been studied in several clinical trials, with results indicating that this combination is effective in controlling nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
  • In one study, the addition of ondansetron to a combination of metoclopramide, dexamethasone, and lorazepam did not improve vomiting prevention in patients receiving high-dose cisplatin, suggesting that the combination of ondansetron and lorazepam may be sufficient for controlling emesis 4.
  • Another study compared the combination of ondansetron, dexamethasone, and lorazepam to a combination of metoclopramide, dexamethasone, and lorazepam, and found that the ondansetron combination was significantly superior in controlling emesis and had fewer adverse reactions 5.
  • There is no direct evidence in the provided studies regarding the interaction between Zofran (ondansetron), Ativan (lorazepam), and Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) and propranolol.
  • However, based on the available evidence, it appears that the combination of Zofran (ondansetron) and Ativan (lorazepam) is safe and effective in controlling nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
