Clinical Implications for Patients with Milk Allergy
Patients with severe milk protein allergy or lactose intolerance should be counseled about the presence of lactose monohydrate in albendazole tablets. 1
- The lactose content is typically small and may be tolerated by patients with lactose intolerance, but those with severe milk protein allergy (IgE-mediated) require careful consideration
- Alternative formulations or consultation with an allergist may be necessary for patients with documented severe milk allergy
